「大人の」はどう訳す？
外食する機会があり
「大人のメロンソーダ」
というおもしろいお酒に出会いました！
I recently had the chance to eat out and came across an interesting cocktail called “The Adult Melon Soda.”
“The Adult Melon Soda.”
は日本語からの直訳ですが
This is a direct translation from Japanese,
日本語でいう”大人の”には
洗練された感じ、優雅な感じ、高級な感じが
前後の内容に応じてつきますよね。
but the phrase “大人の” (otona no) in Japanese conveys a sense of sophistication, refinement, or luxury, depending on the context.
ただ英語の”adult”だと
このニュアンスが伝わらないですよね。
Simply translating it to English as “adult” doesn’t quite capture these nuances.
これは言語のおもしろいところだなと思います💡
I think this is an interesting aspect of language💡
